Final Reports Published on Federal Infrastructure Decision Making

Tribal representatives were invited to participate in formal nation-to-nation “Consultations on Infrastructure Decision Making” that were held between October and November 2016. The Departments of the Army, Interior and Justice held consultations throughout Indian Country to discuss how the federal government can ensure meaningful tribal input into infrastructure-related decisions that impact tribal lands, resources, and treaty rights and whether new legislation is necessary to promote those goals.

The Obama administration published a final report in January 2017.
